Cessna 172 flips over at Kelowna Airport, British Columbia

Some frightening moments for a pilot and his student Sunday morning after the small plane they were in flipped upside down.

The Cessna 172, owned by Kelowna Flightcraft, was taxiing at the north end of the Kelowna Airport runway when it was suddenly hit by a wave of exhaust from a jet engine of another plane.

Both planes involved in the incident are owned by Flightcraft, and the mishap happened on Flightcraft property.

The pilot and student are said to be shaken up but otherwise unharmed.

The RCMP as well as Flightcraft are investigating.

It's not clear whether the Transportation Safety Board will get involved as the plane was never airborne.
