1 body found after Colorado plane crash; 3 missing

SILVERTON, Colo.—Authorities say searchers have found one body amid the wreckage of a small plane that crashed in the southwest Colorado mountains and are trying to find three other people who were aboard.

San Juan County Emergency Manager Kristina Maxfield says the body was found Sunday about 1 1/2 miles north of Silverton. The victim's identity hasn't been confirmed.

The plane crashed at about 3 p.m. Saturday. Authorities say it was flying from Durango to Aspen.

Maxfield says it's unclear how much longer the search will continue Sunday because the weather is worsening.

The search had to be suspended Saturday because of bad weather. Temperatures in Silverton dipped to 4 degrees overnight, and Maxfield estimates 8 to 10 inches of snow have fallen at the scene since the crash.
