Charleston International Airport (KCHS), South Carolina




CHARLESTON, South Carolina (WCBD) – A Charleston International Airport flight ran into an unusual delay on the taxiway Saturday night.

Delta passenger John Moroney said his flight from Atlanta landed in Charleston around 7 p.m. Saturday when the pilot announced a delay. 

An alligator was passing across the taxiway.  

The pilot briefly held the plane to let the gator pass.

UPDATE: Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the two people involved in the plane crash and says both are in stable condition.

A 66-year-old man from Collinsville was piloting the plane when it crashed. He was admitted to the hospital in stable condition with internal injuries.

A 19-year-old woman was a passenger in the plane. She was treated and released from the hospital.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A small yellow plane that crashed in Keystone Lake near Prue, Oklahoma, was recovered on August 28.

Around 1:45 p.m. the plane was completely removed from the water, and onto a boat ramp.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the plane was lifted on a private ramp in Sand Springs near Dotson Road.

The towing company stated that the wings of the plane will need to be removed in order to tow it safely.

On August 27 around 9 a.m., a pilot and passenger were in the plane, flying low.

OHP says it struck a power line which caused them to hit the water.

OHP confirmed there were two in the plane that escaped and were eventually transported.

The pilot has a fractured back but is said to be in stable condition. His passenger was treated and released.

ATLANTA — Emergency crews were called to the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta Saturday night after a helicopter had a rough landing.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue said a helicopter fell 3 to 4 feet as it had technical issues. Several emergency vehicles were on the runway tending to the rotorcraft, video shows.

Federal Aviation Administration officials said the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter landed safely after experiencing a tail strike around 9:15 p.m.

The two people inside were having issues landing but were able to get out, authorities said. No one was hurt, according to the FAA.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, California (KION-TV) -- Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office confirms a plane has landed at Manresa State Beach.

According to the dispatch center, no one was injured as the plane landed.

State Parks tells KION that the pilot reported engine failure and were attempting to land at Watsonville airport but weren't going to make it. This led to the pilot deciding to land at Manresa State Beach instead.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board were notified of the incident.

Meanwhile State Parks said they're hoping to get the plane picked up tomorrow but will watch over it overnight.
