Qatar Airways, the official carrier of the 20th World Petroleum Congress, has welcomed delegates travelling to Doha from over 100 global destinations to attend the world’s largest energy congress being held in the Middle East for the first time.
Held every three years, the five-day event which began yesterday, is taking place at the newly-opened Qatar National Convention Centre with over 5,000 delegates and 550 speakers expected to attend.
Qatar Airways chief executive officer Akbar al-Baker said: “We are pleased to be partners in the long-awaited 20th World Petroleum Congress, and we welcome all guests and dignitaries travelling from around the world to Doha in the coming days.”
The airline will have a presence at the accompanying exhibition with a dedicated stand where delegates can meet with senior management, and also secure bookings on-site with a unique mobile reservations service available to make new, revise existing bookings, or even arrange short holiday packages, specially created for visitors attending the Congress.
Qatar Airways Holidays, the airline’s tour operating arm, is extending packages for delegates wishing to book a vacation to a range of popular destinations, such as the Maldives or Seychelles islands, Beirut, Goa, or Sri Lanka and more – all within five hours or less from Doha.
The airline’s corporate jet division, Qatar Executive is also an integral player in the Congress, providing bespoke fixed-based operation services for delegates travelling to Doha through private chartered travel. Qatar Executive’s operations include third party private jet operations services, offering facilities such as maintenance, fuelling, parking and catering at Doha International Airport.
Qatar’s national airline, Qatar Airways, currently operates a modern fleet of 102 aircraft to 110 destinations across Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America.
