The world's most intense airports (KILLER PHOTOS)

Only a few pilots are certified to land at Bhutan’s Paro airport. The Himalayas make any small mistake there a fatal error.

Pilots brave enough to make the trip to the U.S. science base on Antarctica's Ross Island touch down on ice.

And landing at the Svalbard Airport in Norway? It might be better not to ask.

Those are just three of the world’s seven most extreme airports, according to National Geographic.
