Incident occurred March 31, 2018 at Hudson Valley Regional Airport (KPOU), Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York

A two-seat aircraft returning to Hudson Valley Regional Airport in Wappingers Falls had engine problems, but landed safely, said New Hackensack Fire Chief Anthony Marquez.

The pilot, returning from a flight on his private plane, called in around 11:17 a.m. Saturday to report an engine problem. Dutchess County called New Hackensack three minutes later.

"It wasn't stalling, it was sputtering," Marquez said of the plane's engine.

"We responded," Marquez added. "By the time I got there, the plane was already on the ground," having landed safely.
