Man smashes screen on Emirates over wine refusal. Frenchman threatened crew saying, “I will cause a big problem”

A drunk passenger allegedly threatened the crew aboard an Emirates flight and smashed a screen because they refused to serve him alcohol, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

According to official records, on June 14, on board the Emirates flight No EK74 from Paris to Dubai, AM, 34, a French transit passenger threatened Emirates staffers JLH, 39, an Australian Air Service officer, and DC, 29, a French, air hostess saying: “I will damage the plane and its reputation and cause a big problem.”

He allegedly did so because they refused to serve him more wine.

The transit passenger is also accused of drinking three bottles of red wine in illegal conditions.

JLH, testified that two hours into the flight the passenger asked for more alcohol.

“As he was drunk and being in charge of air service I asked the crew members not to serve him anymore wine. I was told by the crew that he insisted on having more. I went to the passenger and told him that he will not be allowed to have more alcohol. He was drunk.”

The crew later discovered that the accused had broken the screen fixed in front of the seat of another passenger.

The captain of the plane was then notified.

The passenger spoke French and DC acted as the translator.

DC, in court, repeated the same testimony.

The accused admitted to the charges and the court adjourned the case for verdict on September 26.
