Hailey City Officials Seek Public Comment About Airport Plans. Friedman Memorial Airport (KSUN), Hailey, Idaho.

Hailey city officials want to hear from residents about what the next steps should be concerning Friedman Memorial Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration recently suspended work on an environmental impact statement on a replacement airport.

Residents will have the chance to attend one of seven informal sessions at noon and 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday-Friday and at noon on Sept. 26 at Hailey City Hall. City officials will be on hand to hear comments and answer questions.

“Obviously, there is uncertainty in the community about where we go next with the replacement airport project,” said Martha Burke, city council president and the vice chairwoman of the Friedman Memorial Airport Authority Board. “City officials and airport board members are eager to hear from the community about what citizens think our next steps should be and we want to provide as much information as we currently have about the suspension of the EIS and what it could mean for our community and for air service in our region.”

If you’re unable to attend the sessions, call city hall at 788-4221. More information about the replacement airport can be viewed at www.FLYSVRA.com.
