“This is one of the problems with general aviation. It is a rich man's hobby that is heavily subsidized by the taxpayers. Taxpayers pay for the airports that private planes and corporate jets use for free. Taxpayers give them free air traffic control. When they break their toys the government pays millions to investigate and figure out why.
Privatize the whole thing, or at least charge private jets and pilots the full cost of the government services they use.
This will set off the general aviation people, who will tell us they save the world for us.”
