Cherry Capital Airport (KTVC) Resumes Construction on New Air Traffic Control Tower. Traverse City, Michigan. (With Video)

Airport officials say they're excited to finally get moving on the tower project; but, there's still fear it could stop again come the Fall.

Without money, construction on the brand new, much-needed, Air Traffic Control tower at Cherry Capital Airport, came to a stand-still.

President Obama signed off on a deal this weekend, re-opening the FAA after a nearly, two week-long shutdown. It extends the FAA operating power through mid-September.

Airport officials say, the only concern is that this new deal is just another extension.

The new tower will be much bigger, and much more advanced than the current tower.

For now, construction workers plan on working hard to make-up for lost time.

Airport officials and construction workers say they're going to do their best to get the entire tower structure up by early Fall, and put the electronics in early next year.
