MAINE: Waldo County emergency personnel to conduct search, rescue drills Saturday.

THORNDIKE, Maine — The Waldo County Emergency Management Agency will conduct a full-scale emergency preparedness exercise 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.

As part of the scenario, the Waldo County Search and Rescue Team will do a number of searches around the northern part of the county. The Civil Air Patrol will provide an aircraft to assist with the searches and the county incident management and emergency amateur radio teams will establish a field command post at Mount View High School in Thorndike.

The exercise is designed to test the county’s emergency operations plan.
