Obituary for Greg Ronchetti

Greg Ronchetti, 71, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday November 1, 2017. Greg was born June 8, 1946 in Long Beach, California to Henry and Betty (Ehrhart) Seaman. Greg graduated from Mattoon High School (IL) in 1964 and from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1968. He received his Wings of Gold at NAS Pensacola, FL. He flew A-7 Corsair II aircraft with Attack Squadron #154 flying 150 combat missions in Vietnam from the carrier USS Oriskany. He was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for heroic achievement in 1972.

Greg was a member of the United States Navy Tailhook Association, Blue and Gold Officers Association, The Missouri Auto Dealers Association where he served as a director, the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and the St. Joseph Country Club. He owned Greg Buick Automobile Dealership, which he purchased from Bill Miller in 1977. He later purchased the Pontiac Cadillac Dealership from Stan and Lois Lucas in 1986 and he acquired Greg Chevrolet in 1987 from Lloyd and Pam Wall.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Seaman, a U.S. Naval pilot who was killed in the line of duty in Alaska; Frank Ronchetti, his adoptive father; and his daughter, Alicia Summers.

Greg is survived by his wife Deanna (Goben) Ronchetti, daughter April Ronchetti Little, Scottsdale, AZ., grandsons, Jett and Zane Little, mother, Betty Miller, Mattoon, IL, sister, Marcia Ronchetti, Santa Rosa, CA, brothers, Jim Ronchetti, Australia, Dick Ronchetti, Dallas, TX, Bob Ronchetti, Mattoon, IL, Scott Ronchetti, Mattoon, IL, and Frank Ronchetti, Denver, CO, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 6, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Family will gather with friends 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, November 5, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. 

Memorial donations can be made to the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1968.
