Today, security guards of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport detained an Azerbaijani citizen Bakhtiyar Garashov, who attempted to sneak firearm (pistol) into the Baku-Kiev flight, CJSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" (AZAL) spokesman Maharram Safarli told Trend.
He said a firearm was found during search of the detainee's hand baggage. Garashov was detained and handed over to the Azerbaijani National Security Ministry.
The fact is under investigation.
An Airbus 320-200 aircraft carrying out Baku-Kiev flight was supposed to depart at 9:41 (Baku time).
