Air Canada Jazz flight, Dash-8 with mechanical problem lands at Toronto's Pearson International Airport. Passenger jet reportedly experiencing difficulty with hydraulic system

A passenger plane experiencing mechanical problems mid-air has successfully made an emergency landing at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

The plane, reportedly an Air Canada Jazz flight and a Dash-8 model, touched down just before 8 a.m. Tuesday. Emergency vehicles and personnel were on hand as a precautionary measure.

The plane had communicated it was having difficulty with its hydraulic system before it landed smoothly on the runway.

There has been no word yet on how many people were on board or where the flight was coming from.


A small commercial airplane that reported mechanical problems as it was in the air has landed safely at Pearson International Airport.

Emergency personnel were on standby as a precaution when the Air Canada Jazz plane made an emergency landing, reportedly because of hydraulic problems, on Tuesday at about 7:55 a.m.

Greater Toronto Airports Authority officials told CP24 the Dash-8 plane's crew reported mechanical issues.

No injuries were reported.

Air Canada hasn't commented on the matter.
