Moyer Dragonfly: Toronto man seriously injured in Fergus plane crash. (Canada)

CENTRE WELLINGTON, Ont. — A Toronto man has been seriously hurt after a small plane crashed into a bean field about an hour's drive north of Kitchener.

Provincial police say a Moyer Dragonfly went down in Centre Wellington, near Fergus, just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

The plane had been towing a glider and had just let go of the other craft when, for unknown reasons, it lost power and crashed.

Police say the 55-year-old pilot was taken to Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus.

He was then airlifted to a Hamilton hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The Transportation Safety Board has been notified of the crash.
