Air taxi makes emergency landing at Dillingham airport, Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers say an air taxi made an emergency landing at the Dillingham airport but suffered only minimal damage.

The Grant Aviation twin-engine Piper Navajo on Monday morning took off from Dillingham for a scheduled flight to Togiak.

National Transportation Safety Board investigator Clint Johnson says as the airplane approached Togiak, the pilot detected that the front landing gear was not down.

The pilot flew back to Dillingham, burned fuel for about an hour and made the emergency landing at 10:55 a.m.

Neither the pilot nor three passengers on board were hurt.
