Karachay-Cherkessia helicopter crash due to engine problems

Experts of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) found that the MI-8 helicopter which crashed last week in Karachay-Cherkessia had problems with its engines during the landing. At the moment the Committee is analyzing the records from the copter's black boxes, RIA Novosti  reports.

Last Monday, a MI-8 helicopter carrying 13 people crashed when landing on a runway. Five people were hospitalized, including the president and deputy plenipotentiary envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, Maxim Bystrov.

Earlier, the management of the Panh company which provides the helicopter, said that suggested that the helicopter was hit in the downdraft.
