Australia: One dead in Victorian light plane crash.

One person has been killed and another severely injured in a light plane crash in western Victoria.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullin says some residents of Wallup, near Dimboola, heard a loud crash at around 6.30pm (AEST).

He said emergency services were sent out looking for any signs of wreckage and found the plane about two hours later.

He said the search was made difficult by heavy rain in the area.

A helicopter ambulance is on its way to the crash site to bring the injured person to hospital in Melbourne.
