Beechcraft A36 Bonanza: Plane headed to Denver International Airport (KDEN) crashes in Wyoming, 2 dead

LANDER, Wyo. (AP) - A single-engine plane crashed in the Wind River Range of western Wyoming, killing a pilot and a passenger.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says the Beechcraft A36 Bonanza crashed about 20 miles west of Lander at about the 11,000 foot elevation.

The plane was reported missing around noon Sunday and was found by a search helicopter several hours later.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane was registered to a company in Parker, Colo. It had taken off from Driggs, Idaho, and was en route to Denver International Airport.

The names of the victims have not been released.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

It is the third fatal plane crash in the Wind River Range within the past year. Seven people died in the other two crashes.
