Two men were uninjured after the single-engine plane they were in crash shortly after takeoff.

The Piper PA-28-181 crashed at around 2:22 p.m. Thursday about a half-mile southwest of the Faribault Airport runway, where it had taken off from moments earlier.

It came down in a plowed field, with the 25-year-old pilot, Skyler Hackett of Prior Lake, and 33-year-old passenger, Todd Guyette of Osceola, Wisconsin, uninjured.

The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
