JetBlue re-ups for a second NYC-to-Hyannis season: Daily service between Cape Cod and the Big Apple to begin again in June 2015

With their inaugural season deemed a success by the airline, the Town of Barnstable and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, JetBlue will again offer daily, non-stop service between Hyannis and New York City in 2015.

"The service was extremely successful last summer," said Barnstable Municipal Airport Manager Bud Breault." During the eleven weeks between the first flight of 2014 on June 26 and the final flight of the season on September 9, more than 12,000 passengers flew in both directions between Hyannis and JFK Airport in New York City."

In March JetBlue announced that Hyannis would be their 86th destination. Following an average occupancy of 85% per flight, Town of Barnstable administrators and the head of the Cape Cod Chamber promptly invited the airline back.  "We are looking to build on that strong performance and demonstrate long term to JetBlue that Cape Cod is a first rate destination for them," said Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce CEO Wendy Northcross.

The 2015 season will begin on June 18--8 days ahead of the 2014 season. The last flight is scheduled for September 8, 2015. Flight times will be a bit earlier in 2015 than in 2014.  Daily flights will depart JFK at 11:27 a.m., arriving in Hyannis at 12:38 p.m. Return flights will depart Hyannis at 1:14 p.m., arriving at JFK at 2:29 p.m.

Flights may be booked on the JetBlue website.
