Navy searching for missing crewmember after aircraft incident in Arabian Gulf

The Navy and Marine Corps are reportedly searching for a missing crewmember after an incident that occurred Wednesday during the takeoff of a MV-22 Osprey from the deck of the USS Makin Island in the Arabian Gulf.

According the Navy Times, the Osprey lost power while taking off from the ship. The pilot was able to regain control of the aircraft and land safely, but not before two crewmembers jumped into the water.

One crewmember has been recovered and is stable onboard the Makin Island.
