A small plane that was damaged while landing at McGhee Tyson Airport Tuesday caused three flights to be diverted while the aircraft was being removed from the runway, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said.
The pilot of the Premier I business jet returned the plane to McGhee Tyson shortly after departure when a cockpit warning light indicated a possible hydraulic problem, according to the FAA.
The tires on the left main landing gear blew out as it landed safely on Runway 23 Right at about 9 a.m.
