 Coast Guard Station Juneau rescue crew arrives alongside a disabled floatplane that crash-landed when one of the landing floats reportedly gave away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012. Along with the station crew, the crews of a cruise ship and a tour boat responded to the call for help from the pilot of the plane.


A rescue crew from Coast Guard Station Juneau responded to a floatplane that crash-landed in Tracy Arm south of Juneau on Thursday afternoon when one of its floats gave way. The crews of a cruise ship and a tour boat also responded to the call for help from the pilot. The pilot and a passenger were found sitting on one of the floats of the partially submerged plane. Neither was injured.
