A plane with the Black Diamond Jet Team sits on the runway at the Punta Gorda Airport Saturday evening.

A member of a seven-jet team appeared to have landing gear problems during a special VIP show this evening before Saturday's Florida International Air Show at the Punta Gorda Airport.

According to witness Tony Rybarczyk, the Black Diamond Jet Team had finished its routine when one of the jets experienced what appeared to be problems with the landing gear. The pilot appeared to be unharmed.

According to the air show website, as America's premier civilian squadron, the Black Diamond Jet Team is a seven-ship aerobatic civilian-owned jet team.

Fully-sponsored by United Bank Card, Inc., the team is comprised of five L-39s and two Mig-17s, all in the Arctic camouflage paint scheme. The Lakeland, Florida-based Black Diamond Jet Team is an exciting addition to the U.S. air show circuit.
