Cessna 210 lands in marshy area near Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. (With Video)



PALM BEACH GARDENS -- A pilot of a small plane made a hard landing in a marshy, wooded area next to the North Palm Beach County Airport Tuesday night.

At about 10:30 p.m., the pilot, who is yet to be identified, landed a Cessna 210 plane about one mile off an the airport runway west of Palm Beach Gardens, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and an airport spokeswoman.

Emergency crews said they had some difficulty getting to the plane, because of the terrain, but got to the pilot roughly 45 minutes after the landing. The pilot was not seriously injured.

The 210 Cessna model is a six-seater, single-engine plane.

Details of what happened leading up to the emergency landing haven't been released.
