Cessna T210L, N21HF: Pilot who walked from forced landing near North County Airport is Kentucky man

PALM BEACH GARDENS — Authorities have identified the pilot who was forced to land his airplane Tuesday night in a marshy area near the North County Airport as a 42-year-old Kentucky man.

Billy Tabor was able to walk away after crash landing his plane around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in an area northwest of the airport west of Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. Don DeLucia said this morning.

Tabor was not seriously injured, DeLucia said.

A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office helicopter unit found the plane and guided rescue crews to it.

It was not immediately clear what forced the pilot to land.
