Tourists return from Hurghada

Two Jat aircrafts carrying Serbian tourists evicted from their hotel in the Egyptian seaside resort of Hurghada due to a dispute between the Serbian and Egyptian travel agencies, landed at the Belgrade airport late on Thursday.

Despite the fog, there were no problems with the landing, and the tourists were welcomed by their friends and families, as well as teams of journalists.

The tourists thanked the Serbian government for enabling their return, and severely criticized the Serbian travel agency for their unprofessionalism, and personnel of the Egyptian hotel for the way they were treated.

Two Jat aircrafts took off for Egypt at 2.55 pm and 5 pm respectively, after Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic gave the authorization to send two planes to collect the tourists.

A group of 238 tourists, among which are families with small children, were evicted from their hotel rooms on Tuesday due to the dispute between the Egyptian agency Bright Sky and their partnership agency from Belgrade United Travel over the Belgrade agency's unsettled debts to the Egyptian one.

Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric told the journalists Wednesday that he believes the agency will be stripped of its work permit, adding that he expects the Delta Generali insurance company will compensate one part of the tourists' expenses.
