Jetstar cancels flights because of safety concerns

JETSTAR has grounded three aircraft after it was discovered that there was a small amount of movement in the tracks of some of the seats.

Six services have been affected by the decision to ground the three A320 aircraft out of the airline's 60-plane trans-Tasman fleet.

"As a precautionary measure, Jetstar has decided to take these aircraft out of service whilst we await further information from the seat manufacturer and Airbus," the airline said in a statement.

"This decision is in line with our safety first approach."

Jetstar said it was liaising with affected passengers to accommodate them on alternative services.
