Hawker Beechcraft's Little Rock workers told layoff coming

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.  - Workers at the Hawker Beechcraft Corp. aircraft finishing plant in Little Rock have been told to expect layoffs.

Little Rock television station KATV reported Friday that workers were given a letter that says to expect a layoff announcement on Nov. 11.   Hawker Beechcraft has about 500 workers in Little Rock. The letter from Chief Executive Bill Boisture says the company's customers around the world are feeling the effects of economic instability, and some customers in the Middle East are affected by the Arab Spring movement.

The letter says the company will give a required 60-day notice on Nov. 11 and affected workers will be told whether they will be needed on the job for all or part of that interval.
