Nebraska Man Threatens to Shoot Offutt Air Force Base Airmen

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office arrested a fisherman after he reportedly threatened to shoot Offutt Air Force Base Airmen because they were disrupting his fishing with their water rescue training.

Just after 10:30 a.m. Monday, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office was called to Branched Oak Lake on a report of shots fired.

Authorities said William Roberts of Lyons, Nebraska was fishing while Offutt Air Force Base Airmen were conducting water rescue training utilizing jet skis.

Roberts reportedly became upset because the jet skis were going by his boat and tangled his fishing line.

Authorities said Roberts pulled out a handgun, fired it into air and threatened to shoot the airmen if they didn't stop.

Offutt Air Force Base pulled all of its people out of water.

Roberts was arrested for terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
