GREER, S.C. -- A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport early Monday.
Dispatchers reported the pilot had taken off from GSP, but then requested to return about 6:20 a.m. due to what was described as a problem with the nose gear.
The situation was called out to emergency responders as an alert 2, level 4, which means a declared emergency involving a plane with 26 to 50 people onboard.
Fire trucks, with lights flashing, were seen on the tarmac before the plane touched down.
The plane landed about 6:40 a.m. without incident.
Official word from airport representative Rosylin Weston was expected later this morning.
