Greensboro, North Carolina: Council approves HondaJet incentives.

GREENSBORO -- City Council unanimously approved giving $523,750 to Honda Aircraft as an incentive to expand its business here, creating up to 419 jobs.

Council voted on the incentives and plans after a break to discuss contracts for the White Street landfill.

In exchange for the city's financial support, Honda Aircraft promises to create jobs with an average salary of $54,000 as part of a proposed $80 million addition of a HondaJet service and support center at Piedmont Triad International Airport. It is a separate project from the existing HondaJet site at the airport. Greensboro is one of several sites Honda Aircraft is considering for the new center.
