EWN obtains exclusive plane crash site photo. Tzaneen, Limpopo, South Africa

As investigators continue to sift through the wreckage of the twin-airplane tragedy in Limpopo last weekend, Eyewitness News has exclusively obtained a photograph of the crash site itself.

The wreckage of the planes was discovered on Tuesday and all 13 people on board were confirmed dead.

The site of the air crash is located on mountain side and is only accessible by helicopter.

After its discovery, a team was sent to photograph it, collect evidence and remove the bodies.

The airspace above remains restricted but it is known that the airplanes caught fire after crashing within 20 metres of each other.

On Wednesday a team is likely to return to the site to wrap up investigations.

The bodies are set to be transported to Pretoria where they will be identified.
