A small plane crashed Wednesday near Sky Manor Airport in Hunterdon County, leaving the pilot with minor injuries, officials said.

The Cessna 150F crashed shortly after takeoff around noon in Pittstown, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Only the pilot was onboard.

New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said troopers responded and there were only minor injuries.

Airport officials could not be immediately reached. Photos from the scene showed the plane with its nose down and damage to the wing. State Police, fire crews and the Hunterdon County Hazardous Materials Response Unit were at the scene.

  1. Luckily, the aircraft did not sustain damage might adversely affect the strength, performance or flight characteristics of the aircraft; hence, this was an incident, not an accident.

  3. That old sun-faded 150 looks as though it never saw a hangar or a sun shade in its life. Wonder what required maintenance it saw too.
