DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT:  Aircraft struck by lightning while in flight. As a result of the lightning strike, the area behind the pilot’s seat began smoking and smoldering causing sooting to the aft of the cabin and empennage. 

DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES:  The following exhibit obvious lightning damages: propeller, left cabin step, rear floorboards, bottom of rear seat, TKS pump, Garmin pitch and roll servos. Full extent of lightning damage unknown.

Insurer reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

  1. Plane landed in Augusta, Ga after lightning strike but nothing can be found to tell the story other than the salvage listing. Odd to only find it on Flightaware, no news or pilot forum entries.
