BROOKLINE, New Hampshire — Nobody was injured when a Pipistrel Sinus 912 aircraft crashed at Brookline Airport on Saturday afternoon, the fire department said.

Brookline Fire Chief Dave Joki said the Pipistrel Sinus 912 was coming in to land about 4:30 p.m. when wind is believed to have pushed it off course, causing it to strike a light tower to the side of the runway. Joki stressed that investigators would still need to determine if wind was a primary factor.

Both the plane and the light tower were damaged, Joki said, but the pilot, who was the only one aboard the plane, was OK.

Joki said both the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
