The flight instructor stated that they were on their 5th or 6th trip around the traffic pattern when the accident occurred. He reported that during landing on runway 13 with a newly certificated pilot getting familiar with the airplane, when just above taxi speed, the airplane began drifting right. The pilot used full left rudder and "stomped on the brake." The airplane went to the left and sat up on the right wingtip. The right wing outboard 1/4 was crumpled and the right main gear collapsed under the fuselage.

The flight instructor stated that there were no mechanical malfunctions or anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.
