The Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a single plane crash that damage property on the Lorain County Regional Airport runway at 44050 Russia Road in Elyria.

The patrol received the call around 12:15 p.m. to find minor damage on the involved Ryan Navion B plane on the scene, according to patrol officials.

Three of the plane's blades were bent.

An Oberlin man who was flying the aircraft was attempting to land the plane and failed to lower his landing gear, according to a news release from the highway patrol.

The plane slid off the right side of the landing strip, the release said.

No occupants were on scene when the highway patrol arrived and no injuries were reported, officials said.

Alcohol or other drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to the release.

The highway patrol is still investigating the crash.
