(WEAR) — Pensacola Approach confirms an aircraft made an emergency landing in a field near the Alabama-Florida state line, according to Santa Rosa County Public Information Officer Brandi Bates.

There are three people walking around the aircraft with unknown injuries, Bates says.

It is also not yet known if there are any other occupants in the aircraft, Bates adds.

Bates says the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office, Munson Fire Department, Whiting Field Fire Department, Florida Forest Service, Lifeguard Ambulance, Santa Rosa County Emergency Management, and Escambia County Alabama Public Safety are en route.

UPDATE (1:22 PM) — The pilot of the aircraft confirmed the emergency landing was due to a small mechanical issue. Thankfully, no one was injured.

A small plane made an emergency landing in a field in extreme north Santa Rosa County Wednesday. 

The plane came down in a field along Munson Highway on the Florida-Alabama state line in McLellan community.
