On May 5, 2019, about 0845 eastern daylight time, a Piper PA-34-220T airplane, N999CR impacted terrain shortly after departing the Anderson Municipal Airport-Darlington Field (AID) Anderson, Indiana. The commercial rated pilot received serious injuries, and the airplane was substantially damaged. The airplane was registered to and operated by SPC Leasing, LLC, as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal fight. Visual meteorological conditions existed near the accident site about the time of the accident, and no flight plan had been filed.

A witness reported the airplane departed from runway 36, and during the initial climb the airplane rocked back-and-forth. The left wing dropped, the airplane descended, and impacted the ground with the left wing first. An airport security camera captured the airplane's departure. A review of the video revealed the airplane's wings rocked slightly before it disappeared out of view. When the airplane reappeared in the camera's view, the airplane was descending with the left wing low. The airplane impacted terrain and came to rest facing the oppose direction of travel. There was not a post-crash fire.

The front of the airplane cabin/cockpit area was largely destroyed by the impact. The major components were located at the crash site. The outer section of the left wing was located near the initial impact point and the remaining part of the left wing was attached to the fuselage by electrical wires. The right wing remained attached to the fuselage. The right engine's 3-bladed propeller had separated from the engine and was found in the wreckage path, the left engine's 3-bladed propeller remained attached to the engine. One of the left propeller blades had separated from the propeller hub and was located in the wreckage path. A visual inspection of both engines did not reveal any preimpact abnormalities.

After the on-site documentation was complete, the wreckage was recovered to a secure facility for additional examination.

  1. If you look up the tail number it says SPC Leasing LLC owns the plane. If you got to the Secretary of State website for Indiana it gives you a Daleville Address. When you Google that address it comes back to Sam Pierce Chevrolet ?SPC?
