Fire department called to gas leak at Manhattan Regional Airport (KMHK)

MANHATTAN, Kan. (KSNT) – A local airport terminal had to be evacuated after a gas leak was reported near the Air Traffic Control tower.

Kansas Gas Service and the Manhattan Fire Department responded Tuesday morning to the Manhattan Regional Airport and quickly fixed the leak.

No one was injured, and service is now back to normal.

Airport director Jesse Romo said the leak was reported at 11:20am and happened between flight times so there was minimal customer disruption.

Romo said the leak was caused by a construction crew near the terminal.
