KARACHI: Karachi airport
manager Azfar Malik was removed from his post on Friday for
mismanagement and negligence during the Karachi airport attack on June
8.
Malik has been replaced by Ali Jan Agha as Civil Aviation
Authority (CAA) takes measures to replace officers following the airport
attack.
The CAA fire officer Faiz Akhtar and CAA General Manager Fire Raza Rizvi have also been removed from their posts.
Earlier
in the day, an inquiry committee absolved the CAA, Airport Security
Force (ASF) and fire-fighters of blame for a devastating blaze which
engulfed a cargo warehouse after the June 8 attack at the Karachi
airport, leaving seven dead.
On June 8, militants stormed into
the Karachi airport in a midnight siege which left 30 dead, including
all 10 militants. The Tehreek-e-Taliban claimed responsibility for the
attack.
