ATEC 122 Zephyr 2000, EC-ZKE: Accident occurred May 10, 2014 in Pilar de la Horadada, Spain

A light aircraft crashed in the Cañada de Praes area of Pilar de la Horadada on Saturday, but the two occupants were able to free themselves from the wreckage without suffering serious injury.

The aircraft was traveling from Vinarós to Murcia when it is said that it started to lose altitude. The pilot noticed a large plot of land, which had been levelled only a few days ago, and decided to make an emergency landing.

Having managed to avoid high voltage electric cables, the aircraft landed successfully, but then flipped over onto its roof.

The two people on board suffered minor cuts and bruises and the scene was attended by both the local police and Guardia Civil, but fire fighters were not required due to the relative success of the landing.
