Flight curbs set for Obama visit

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said Friday that Notices to Airmen will take effect during the two-day visit of US President Barack Obama starting April 28, 2014.

CAAP Deputy Director General Capt. John Andrews said General Aviation aircraft will be disallowed at NAIA terminals while scheduled commercial flights and cargo trips will be delayed due to the arrival of the Presidential plane and his entourage.

According to Joyce Santos, of CAAP-Operations Rescue and Coordination Center,   the No-fly zone covers 21 nautical miles to 40 nautical miles from the Manila approach at NAIA. The restriction for general aviation will also apply to  Sangley, Lipa and San Idelfonso airfields.
