Peru authorizes Bolivian airline to begin flights to Lima

On Monday Peru’s Ministry of Transportation awarded Boliviana de Aviacion (BoA) the permits needed to begin to provide scheduled passenger, cargo and mail flights, for the next 4 years.

Peru’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation issued the permit, which will allow BoA to fly the Lima-La Paz, Lima-Cochabamba, and Santa Cruz-Lima routes up to seven times a week, using a Boeing 737-300.

Bolivia’s state own airline announced it would begin making special flights to Lima last November, while it obtained the necessary permits to start scheduled commercial flights.

Previously, Regional BoA manager Carmen Flores said the company considered Lima to be a high demand destination, due to its rich cuisine, vacation spots, and connectivity to the rest of the world.

The airline is based out of the Cochabamba International Airport.
