Gear failure halts plane landing at Essendon Airport, Australia.

A plane is circling Essendon Airport amid reports it is unable to land.

It is believed two people are onboard the the twin engine Piper aircraft that has encountered problems.

An MFB spokesman said the the aircraft was experiencing gear problems.

"It could be nothing, we don't know. It may be as simple as a faulty light in the cabin," he said.

Seven MFB crews and paramedics are at the scene on standby.
