Authorities have released further details on the plane crash that happened in Monticello on Sunday morning.
The Monticello Police Department says 59-year old Doug LeClere of Coggon was trying to land his Boeing A75N1(PT17) at the Monticello Regional Airport around 8:30 am. After touching down, a crosswind pushed the tail of the plane, causing it to veer off the right side of the runway before coming to a stop in a field.
Monticello Police, Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene.
Police say LeClere was the only person in the plane. He was not injured.
The incident has been reported to the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration.
