NTSB investigators will use data provided by various entities, including, but not limited to, the Federal Aviation Administration and/or the operator, and will not travel in support of this investigation to prepare this aircraft accident report.

On January 26th at approximately 5:30 p.m., units from the James City County Fire Department responded to a report of an aircraft crash at the Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport. 

While landing, a Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee overran the runway, ending up on the bank of College Creek. 

The pilot from the Yorktown area was not injured. 

The Virginia State Police and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating. 

Crews from the City of Williamsburg and York County Fire Departments assisted.
