The government of the Dominican Republic has notified the NTSB of an accident involving a Piper PA-28-180 airplane that occurred on June 29, 2019. The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the government of the Dominican Republic's investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13.
All investigative information will be released by the government of the Dominican Republic.
Barahona.- Am Sonntag kam es zu einem tragischen Flugzeugabsturz in der Provinz Barahona. An Bord befanden sich 4 Personen, sie alle kamen bei dem Absturz ums Leben.
Geplant war ein Flug von Barahona, vom Internationalen Flughafen Maria Montez, bis zum Militärflughafen bei Cabo Rojo (Pedernales). Nur wenige Kilometer nach dem Start stürzte das Flugzeug mit der Matrikel N55784 an der Küste der Gemeinde La Cienaga, am Hügel Agüita, ab. Ein Suchtrupp konnte die Passagiere und Piloten nur noch tot bergen. Bei den Opfern handelt es sich um Giuseppe Lubrano (Pilot), Enríque Grullon (Copilot), Raquel Cordova und eine weitere Person deren Identität man nicht bekannt gegeben hat. Angaben für die Unfallursache gibt es bisher keine.
